More About Podcasting

Since 2013 we have been producing community-focussed stories across Perth and regional WA. Our purpose is to contribute towards a greater sense of empathy and connection in the community, we do this by partnering with organisations looking to explore a deeper narrative. Our team covers the full podcasting process - story development, interviews, sound design and audio post production.

Culturally Peculiar - suburban aspirations in modern Australia

As housing prices in our major cities continue to climb, the Australian dream of owning a suburban home becomes an even bigger mountain to conquer. but is it worth the hike?

This audio documentary produced in collaboration with visual artist Dan McCabe questions the Australian ideal of home ownership and the history behind Perth’s peculiar housing obsession. Piecing together a range of voices from urban planning experts, to those living without a home, this podcast foregrounds stories from the human side of housing, opening new conversations around Perth’s urban living conditions and the future aspirations of it’s residents.

“There is no compensation on this voyage. It’s not been watered down (for people with disabilities)”

How would you go sailing the Indian Ocean blindly? And for a person with a disability, what are the biggest barriers to inclusion in modern society?

This audio documentary was facilitated by Barking Wolf in early 2019, who mentored a group of young people with vision impairment to document their personal sailing journey.
